Luton Town have suspended striker Ricky Miller following an "alleged incident"

Luton Town striker Ricky Miller has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

A club statement confirmed the 26-year-old had been suspended "pending a police inquiry".

Miller was arrested following an "alleged incident" on Sunday evening, the club confirmed.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said a 26-year-old man was "arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident in Hockliffe in the early hours of the morning".

He added: "The man is currently in custody at Luton police station for questioning."

The club statement added: "Luton Town FC takes any allegation against a player or member of staff very seriously.

"An internal investigation is also under way and any player guilty of misconduct will be disciplined appropriately."
