An ex-police officer who used a squad car to meet a man for sexual activity while on duty has admitted misconduct in a public office.

Mark Martin drove the man to a car park in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, where they engaged in a sex act, in November.

The 36-year-old of Brickhill Way, Calvert Green, pleaded guilty at Reading Magistrates' Court.

He is due to be sentenced at the Crown Court in April and resigned from his post in December.

Following the hearing, Dep Ch Con John Campbell said Martin's "outrageous" behaviour would have seen him dismissed from the force.

"In acting in this manner he has let down all his colleagues from Thames Valley Police and the community he was meant to be serving," he added.

Martin was based at High Wycombe police station when he arranged to meet a member of the public on 8 November, police added.

"He invited the male out with him in a police vehicle, and engaged in consensual sexual activity with him in a car park near Hughenden Manor," a statement said.

He was arrested on 28 November and charged on 15 February.

After tendering his resignation, he left the force on 31 January.
