Mid Bedfordshire by-election: Polls closed with result due later

Polling stations have closed as voters in Mid Bedfordshire wait to find out who will be their new MP after the resignation of Nadine Dorries.
Voting in the by-election has taken place after Ms Dorries, the serving Tory MP, stood down in the summer.
Thirteen candidates have stood, representing major and minor parties, and two independents.
Counting is taking place at the council offices in Chicksands with the result expected in the early hours of Friday.
The candidates in alphabetic order are:

Sid Cordle - Christian Peoples Alliance
Dave Holland - Reform UK
Emma Holland-Lindsay - Liberal Democrat
Ann Kelly - Monster Raving Loony Party
Prince Ankit Love, Emperor of India - independent
Gareth Mackey - independent
Chris Rooney - Mainstream
Cade Sibley - Green Party
Alistair Strathern - Labour
Alberto Thomas - Heritage
Alan Victor - True and Fair
Antonio Vitiello - English Democrat
A by-election has also been taking place in Tamworth in Staffordshire following the resignation of Conservative MP Chris Pincher.
