Man jailed after attack left Luton Town football fan on life support

A man who injured a football fan so badly he was placed on a life support machine was jailed for two years and banned from matches.

Jack Ellicott, 28, of Merlin Crescent in Edgware, attacked Luton Town supporter Brian Rourke after a game against Queens Park Rangers in 2021.

He was acquitted of grievous bodily harm with intent, but admitted unlawful wounding at Isleworth Crown Court.

Ellicott must also pay £7,500 in compensation to dad-of-four Mr Rourke.

The 52-year-old Luton fan was put in intensive care after he was found with a serious head injury on 19 November 2021 in West London.

The following month, his wife, Vee, said he needed extensive rehabilitation and had to learn to walk and talk again.

Once released from custody, the judge said Ellicott would be banned from football matches for six years.
