Man sustains serious injuries following Bushey collision

A woman has been arrested after a male pedestrian was left seriously injured after being hit by a car and then a lorry.

Officers were called to The Avenue in Bushey, Hertfordshire, at 04:32 GMT.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and for driving without due care or attention.

The road was closed, external in both directions between Aldenham Road and Finch Lane as investigations continued.

Hertfordshire Police said the collision involved a pedestrian and a grey Volkswagen T-Roc.

The same pedestrian was then involved in a collision involving a lorry.

The injured man, a 25-year-old from Poole in Dorset, had serious injuries which were not life-threatening, police said.

The force advised drivers to avoid the area.
