A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a "serious incident".

Police were sent to Savoy Crescent in Milton Keynes at about 22:00 GMT on Saturday after a report that someone had been seen carrying a large knife.

Thames Valley Police said nobody was injured and it was believed to be an isolated incident with no further risk to the public.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Insp Graeme Williams said: "This was a serious incident that we are investigating thoroughly, with a suspect currently in police custody.

"We believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public.

"We are in the very early stages of our investigation and are still trying to establish the full circumstances."
