Rail passengers face delays after signalling fault at Watford Junction

Rail passengers will face "major disruption until the end of the day", after a signalling failure.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, external, London Northwestern Rail said all lines were blocked due to a signal fault at Watford Junction.

The lines between Watford Junction and London Euston have reopened.

Despite this, National Rail said, external "major disruption" was expected until the end of the day and passengers should be prepared for delays and cancellations.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "Our teams will replace a faulty power cable overnight to address the issue. We're sorry for the disruption this has caused to journeys.

"Passengers are advised to check with their train operator or National Rail Enquiries before travelling."
