Birthday gift costs brewery 1,825 pints as Hunsdon man turns 105
Archive footage shows a man celebrating his 105th birthday with what was possibly his 1,825th free pint of beer.
Joe Randle was promised a daily free pint by the local brewery to mark his 100th birthday, which he claimed at The Crown in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire.
Born on 31 January 1884, he lived his entire life in the town apart from the time he spent serving in France during World War One.
He died three weeks short of his 108th birthday in 1992 and was recognised as the oldest man Britain at the time of his death.
