Motorists are being warned that a road will close overnight to allow work, which is part of the £400m Reading railway station revamp, to go-ahead.

The rail bridge over Caversham Road needs to be widened to make way for new track above to serve the new platforms at the station, the council said.

Network Rail is remodelling the station by 2013 to include five more platforms and two additional entrances.

Caversham road will shut on 11 and 18 September from 2000 to 0600 BST.
