Reading Borough Council consults residents on cuts

  • Published

Residents in Reading are being asked to give their views on services before cuts are considered.

The council, of which no party has overall control, said it needs to save around £28m over the next two years.

It has created an online survey called "Your Money Your Say" which allows users to rate services.

Council leader Andrew Cumpsty said the authority wanted to hear how valued services were before any "tough decisions" were taken.

He said: "Rather than the council presenting people with a 'done deal', we want to hear from people about the things that are really important to them."

The public consultation, external will run until 19 November.

Responses should outline which council services people value most and which they think their community values most.

Residents are also asked to say which council services they value least.
