Ascot millionairess died from 'blunt force' injuries

A Berkshire millionairess died from severe blunt force trauma to her head, post-mortem tests have revealed.

Joanna Brown, 46, who ran a bed and breakfast in Ascot, was reported missing on 1 November.

Police have confirmed a body found on Friday in Windsor Great Park, near the guesthouse, is that of Mrs Brown.

Her husband, Edinburgh-born Robert Brown, is due to make his first appearance at Reading Crown Court on Monday charged with her murder.

Mr Brown, 46, of North Street, Winkfield, appeared at Slough Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He has also been charged with preventing a coroner from holding an inquest by disposing of his wife's body.

The couple married 11 years ago but are understood to have been going through divorce proceedings.

Mrs Brown's family described her as a "very special person", adding that she was "loved and admired by everyone".
