Reading Buses has been given an award for improving its services.

The company has bought 31 hybrid double-decker buses to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and added extra buses at peak times.

Its use of information screens and colour coded timetables were highlighted by judges at the National Transport Awards ceremony in London.

The firm has also reduced fares and introduced savings for groups on certain routes.
