Photographer Malcolm Bassett-Smith has been given behind-the-scenes access to Little John's Farm - where preparations are under way for this year's Reading Festival.

It takes more than 150 workers four weeks to get the site ready for the three-day festival, and three weeks to take everything down again.

The land is usually occupied by grazing cattle and horses belonging to farmer Mavis Drayton. In preparation for the festival, eight miles of fencing will be installed as well as 110 portable cabins.

Festival Republic boss Melvin Benn said: "The history of Reading Festival itself has been well documented over the years, but this is the first time a photographer has been allowed access to the build of the festival site".

This year's festival - which has already sold out - takes place from 23 to 25 August. The main stage will host performers including Green Day, Biffy Clyro and Eminem.
