Lionel Richie is to be one of the headline acts of this year's Henley Festival, organisers have confirmed.

The singer will make his event debut on the Thursday night of the festival, which will be held between 8-12 July along the Thames in Berkshire.

On Friday, there will be a philharmonic celebration of American composer and pianist George Gershwin, entitled Who Got Rhythm?

The Saturday and Sunday headline acts are yet to be announced.
