Boy cyclist, 12, killed in Reading crash

The boy was cycling with his father along the B471,Whitchurch Hill

A 12-year-old cyclist has died in hospital after a crash with a van in Reading.

The boy and his father were riding along the B471, Whitchurch Hill, when he was in collision with a white van shortly before 13:00 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died on Monday.

Thames Valley Police said the driver of the Volkswagen van remained at the scene following the crash. No arrests have been made.
