Reading burst water main sees roads closed by flooding

Several roads have been closed due to significant flooding caused by a burst water main.
Thames Valley Police has shut roads in the Southcote area of Reading, including Coley Avenue, Berkeley Avenue, the A4 Bath Road and Southcote Lane.
Officers are advising motorists to avoid the area until further notice.
A Thames Water spokesperson said: "Our teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible."
The water company said its engineers had isolated the burst to carry out the necessary repairs.
A spokesperson added: "...we are sorry to residents and motorists for any delays. Our teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible."
Reading Buses said many of its services were diverted and urged passengers to check before travelling, external.
