Work to change the layout of a double roundabout in a village will start in February 2024 and last about seven months, a council has said.

Wokingham Borough Council said California Cross in Finchampstead was being altered to slow traffic down and make it easier for people to cross.

A representative said the work, which will be funded by housing developers, should be finished by September 2024.

They said it would help non-motorists, such as pedestrians and cyclists.

The council added that the design would include street furniture designed by local schoolchildren and phase one will begin in February on Nine Mile Ride at the junction with Finchampstead Road.
