A planned strike by parking attendants has been called off after a new offer from their employer.

Dozens of parking enforcement officers who work for Saba Park Services in Slough had planned to strike over a pay dispute.

The industrial action between 27 and 30 December had been due to affect the monitoring of restrictions such as pay-and-display parking.

But following an improved pay offer, the strike has now been called off.

A Unite spokesperson said: "If the talks fail to resolve the dispute then further industrial action could be announced next year."

As many as 30 members of the union had been set to carry out the industrial action.

The union claimed it would leave the council without parking attendance, back-office support and CCTV monitoring, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The dispute has been ongoing since April, according to the union.

The BBC has approached Saba Park Services for comment.
