Dates to shut a road while a ramp and staircase from a 1960s multi-storey car park are knocked down have been set.

Work to take down the Broadway Car Park in Maidenhead started on 29 January.

The car park has been closed since December 2022 after concrete started falling from ceilings and the car park's steel was found to be eroding.

Taking down the spiral ramp will close a lane on Broadway between 11 and 28 March, it will shut fully from 17 to 26 April while the stair tower is removed.

Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council said the full closure for the tower work would be in place during weekdays between 09:00 and 15:00 GMT.

A diversion route will be in place via the A4 and the High Street.

Work to demolish the car park was expected to take about three months in total.
