A serious crash has closed a hospital car park.

Thames Valley Police said officers had shut the multi-storey car park at Royal Berkshire Hospital on Craven Road in Reading on Wednesday evening.

Officers are on the scene following what the force has described as a serious collision involving one vehicle and a pedestrian

The hospital remains open as normal but the force has advised anyone using the hospital to find alternative parking.

BBC reporter Richard Lemmer, who was at the scene, said: "There were at least three police cars parked on the first level of the multi storey car park, with several police officers cordoning off a third of the level."
