The Berkshire Egg Run takes place every year, with riders delivering chocolate treats

A large group of motorcyclists took to the roads earlier to deliver hundreds of Easter eggs to people in need.

The Berkshire Egg Run takes place every year, with riders transporting chocolate treats to a local rotary club and Southcote Children's Centre.

The route went from Stadium Way in Tilehurst, through Reading, to the Abbey Rugby Club in Emmer Green.

Rider Colin Hawkins told the BBC: "We try to be nice people, it's no more than that."

He added: "We don't do it for praise or anything else other than it gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling."

Easter eggs were donated by participants, local businesses, and community groups.

The ride, organised by Thames Vale Vultures Motorcycle Owners Group, is now in its 18th year.

Mr Hawkins, who is one of the founding members, said: "All the eggs are boxed up and then they're donated officially over to the rotary club and the children's hub.

"They will go out into the local area and they have a list of places where the deserving and struggling will be the recipients of our eggs."
