Three people have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a stabbing in a Birmingham street.

Police sealed off Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green, shortly after the attack at about 22:15 BST on Friday.

Three people, aged 16, 18 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Officers said the boy, who was stabbed in the leg, was taken to hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition.

Det Sgt Neal Hudson urged any witnesses to come forward.

He said: "We've got a young lad seriously ill in hospital and we need to know who put him there."
