Plea by grandmother of Kyle Sheehan to find killer

The grandmother of a teenager stabbed to death in Birmingham has urged his killer to come forward as the family marked what would have been his 17th birthday.

Kyle Sheehan was stabbed in the leg in Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green, on 21 September.

His grandmother Gail Lambe, 55, said the teenager had been "known to be peacemaker and had many friends".

Four people who were previously arrested in the case remain on bail.

About 40 family members and friends gathered near a decorated shrine to Kyle, set up around a lamppost near to where he was attacked, on Wednesday to mark his birthday.

Detectives working on the murder case say it happened after an argument between two or three groups of young people who were in the area at the time. However, they said it was not gang related.

Ms Lambe said she hoped the latest appeal would "spur" anyone with information about her grandson's death to come forward.

She added: "For Kyle's sake we need information about what happened that night, so his mum Hayley can have some closure."
