Children hurt in school coach crash near Wolverhampton

A woman had to be cut free from her car and children suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a school coach near Wolverhampton.

The accident, involving the coach and a Mercedes, took place on the A41 near Perton crossroads.

Paramedics at the scene checked a small number of children who suffered minor injuries.

The car driver had to be cut from her car by fire and rescue crews. The road is currently closed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Early indications are there will be just one injury that requires treatment and we expect to be able to discharge everyone else."
