Birmingham double stabbing suspects detained

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a double stabbing in Birmingham.

Lukasz Furmanek, 24, from Handsworth, was found unconscious and bleeding in Grove Lane in the early hours of Sunday and pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspects, aged 18 and 19, were arrested just before 01:00 BST.

They are also suspected of trying to kill a 31-year-old man who remains critically ill in hospital.

Det Ch Insp Sam Ridding, leading the investigation, called the arrests "significant".
