A post-mortem examination found Ozell Pemberton died of a single stab wound to the chest

A 17-year-old boy and a man, 21, have been jailed for life for murdering a teenager outside a McDonald's.

Ozell Pemberton, 16, who was described as a "one of a kind" by his parents was stabbed in the chest in Sutton Coldfield town centre on 17 May.

Amir Mohammed Hussain, 17, of Church Road in Lozells, and Oscar Ingram, of Banners Grove in Erdington, were found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court.

Hussain will serve a minimum of 16 years and Ingram a minimum of 24 years.

Judge Phillip Parker QC lifted reporting restrictions allowing Hussain to be named.

West Midlands Police said the pair were intent on getting revenge for an incident that took place in Pype Hayes Park earlier that day.

The force said they attacked Ozell before Hussain stabbed him in the chest.

Ozell collapsed on the street in front of members of the public, who tried to save him but he died of his injuries, the force said.

It added that after the murder, Hussain appeared to admit he had killed Ozell to various people and later, both he and Ingram were arrested.

Their clothes were examined and traces of Ozell's blood were discovered on the waistband of Hussain's trousers.

In a statement, Ozell's family said: "Our lives have not been the same since the day we lost Ozell.

"We haven't just lost a son but we have lost all of his achievements and accomplishments as well."
