Erdington murder charge after man fatally hit by car

A man has been charged with murdering a man who died after being hit by a car in Birmingham.

Shkelzen Taka, 28, died shortly after being found in Coton Road, Erdington, with serious head injuries on Saturday, West Midlands Police said.

Tony Green, 26, from Suffield Grove, Erdington, is due at Birmingham Magistrates' Court charged with his murder, the force added.

Mr Taka's family said he was "a much loved brother and partner".

In a statement issued by West Midlands Police, the family added that they were "devastated at his loss".

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information over the fatal collision which happened shortly before 06:00 GMT.
