A sports podcast hosted by students with autism has been nominated for its second international award.

Pupils at Tettenhall Wood School have interviewed sports stars such as former cricketer Nasser Hussain and footballer Joe Hart for their show.

The TWS Sports podcast, which celebrated its 100th episode last month, has now been nominated for a Sports Podcast Award.

The winner will be chosen by a public vote that runs until 28 January.

Tettenhall Wood School, which specialises in supporting children with autism, launched the podcast in 2021 to help students boost their communication skills and confidence.

The podcast marked its 100th episode by interviewing former England and Wolverhampton Wanderers footballer Steve Bull.

"As a school, we are always looking for ways to develop our students' learning and to show what amazing things they can achieve," teacher Adam Millichip said.

The show has been nominated for "best equality and social impact podcast" at the 2024 Sports Podcast Awards, external. It also won in this category two years ago.

The public can cast their votes on the Sports Podcast Awards website and winners will be announced on 1 February.
