Traders say they were given very little time to clear their stalls

Independent traders who run stalls at a shopping centre in Birmingham have been locked out after the company running it went out of business.

Perry Barr Market Properties wrote letters to them on Friday, explaining it had gone into administration.

The traders were given until 18:00 GMT to clear stock and personal belongings from One Stop Shopping Centre.

The BBC has contacted the administrators and Perry Barr Market Properties Limited for comment.

Del Bains ran Second Skin clothing for 17 years and said he had served loyal customers for many years.

"To give us two hours to take our belongings out, it's just a joke," he said.

His wife, Paramjit, who had two stalls, said: "They should have given us at least six weeks' notice to clear our stuff."

Ateeq Raja, who ran a stall for three years, said: "We've not been treated fairly at all."

He said he had no idea what to do next, but wanted to see the market reopen.

Mr Raja also said he wanted "justice and answers" from the company.
