Cody Fisher's alleged murderer 'boasted' of fight

One of three men accused of murdering a footballer in a nightclub made a phone call in which he boasted about knocking out his alleged victim and another man, a court has heard.
Cody Fisher was stabbed at Birmingham's Crane venue on 26 December 2022.
Remy Gordon, accused of having taken "awful revenge" after being bumped into at a different venue two days previously, said he had "wrapped up" the 23-year-old, jurors were told.
All three men deny murder.
Mr Gordon, 23, from Cofton Park Drive, Birmingham, Kami Carpenter, 22, and Reegan Anderson, 19, both of no fixed address, also deny affray.
A close friend of Mr Fisher, Sam Newey, told Birmingham Crown Court that Mr Gordon rang him shortly after Mr Fisher and another man were attacked at Crane at 23:40 GMT.
Mr Newey told how he had tried to persuade Mr Fisher to leave the Crane after seeing Mr Gordon and several others wearing ski masks and balaclavas about four hours before the stabbing.
Asked why he had urged him to leave, Mr Newey, who knew of Mr Gordon after meeting him at a pub about six months earlier, said: "My concern was that we were going to be outnumbered and obviously potentially get hurt."
Telling jurors he had shaken hands with Mr Gordon and spoken to him after arriving at the nightclub, Mr Newey stated he was asked by the defendant "is your boy Cody here?" to which he said he replied "no, he's not".
Asked to describe what Mr Gordon said during a nine-minute call later that evening, Mr Newey told jurors: "Literally instantly, the first thing he said was 'I am not going to lie, I have just banged both your boys out'."
Mr Fisher, from Redditch, who played for Stratford Town and Bromsgrove Sporting, died at the scene.
The trial continues.
