John Cleese to switch on Christmas lights in Bath

John Cleese moved to Bath in 2010 after a decade of living in America

The actor and comedian John Cleese will switch on the Christmas lights in Bath in November.

Mr Cleese who moved to live in the city in 2010 said he was "excited and privileged" to be turning on the lights.

Other famous people who have switched on the lights include actor Nicolas Cage and the Duchess of Cornwall.

This year's ceremony will take place in Milsom Street at 1830 GMT on 17 November.
