Bath Road in Bristol to be widened

Five months of road works begin in Bristol on Monday in a bid to ease congestion at one of the gateways to the city.
The works will widen Bath Road next to the park-and-ride site on the A4.
There will an extra lane for outbound traffic, which it is hoped will speed up journey times, and access to the park and ride will also be improved.
Traffic lights at the junction with Stockwood Road and Emery Road will be modernised to improve traffic flow.
Councillor Tim Kent, the city's cabinet member for transport, said: "We apologise for the delays this will cause, but we are sure users of the Bath Road will see the benefits when the work is complete.
"We are expecting some added interest in the park-and-ride. It's always the quicker option into town on this route, and even more so when faced with the inevitable delays that road works can cause."
