A centre spokesman said retailers were unhappy with the existing space
Expansion plans for a shopping centre near Bristol have been granted planning approval.
A two-storey extension and new entrance will be built at the The Mall shopping centre at Cribbs Causeway.
Centre bosses say extra space is needed to attract more big-name stores to The Mall which opened in 1998.
An extra 2,000 sq m will be added through the extension which centre managers said will help create a new "mini anchor store".
The expansion would convert some existing space and build over a service yard to create a new entrance in the east car park.
