Avon and Somerset website offers rape survivors help

A new website offering a guide to sexual violence support services across Bristol and Somerset has gone live.

The Survivor Pathway has been created by Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS).

Rowan Miller, director of SARSAS, said the site provides "a clear starting point" to access available services.

"These services are often vital in rebuilding lives and acknowledging the long-term effects of sexual trauma," said Mr Miller.

"We wanted to make sure all people living with the consequences of rape and sexual abuse were able to find out about and access the excellent specialist organisations across Avon and Somerset."

Carol Metters, chair of Safer Bristol Sexual Violence Reference Group, said: "This new website will help professionals respond effectively when victims disclose what has happened to them."
