Pedestrian seriously injured in south Bristol crash

A woman aged in her 70s suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a car in south Bristol.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital after emergency crews were called to Anton Bantock Way in Hartcliffe at 05:40 BST.

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested in connection with the crash, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Road closures are in place, from the junction of Whitchurch Lane and Hareclive Road to Queen's Road.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have relevant dash cam, doorbell or phone footage to contact them.
