Lane three of the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge is closed following a serious collision
Emergency repair work on the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge has been suspended due to severe weather conditions.
A collision involving multiple vehicles happened at approximately 14:00 GMT, which caused significant damage to the central reservation.
Lane three is closed in both directions and a 50mph speed limit is in place for safety.
The lane closures are expected to remain in place throughout the night, said National Highways.
There are long delays of 60 minutes above usual journey times on the M4 westbound between J19 and J23.

Emergency repair work has been suspended due to strong winds
There are also long delays on the M49 northbound between the M5 and M4, and the M48 Severn Bridge is currently closed due to strong winds.
National Highways said a 30-metre section of the central reservation will need replacing when weather conditions improve.
