A 54-year-old man who was found dead at a property has been named by police.

Officers were called to Bath Road in Longwell Green, on the outskirts of Bristol, on Sunday after the death of Mark Torrington, aged 54.

Mr Torrington was reported as missing on Friday, and searches were ongoing when Avon & Somerset Police received a call about his death.

A 73-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday and has been released on bail.

Avon and Somerset Police said they believe Mr Torrington died at least several days before a call was made to them.

A post-mortem examination was inconclusive, and additional tests will now be carried out.

Det Insp Lee Stefano said: "Mark's tragic death is still unexplained and it is likely to be some time before we receive the results of the additional post-mortem tests.

"His family are being kept informed about our investigation by a trained family liaison officer, who is also providing them with support.

"We remain concerned about the nature of Mark's death and will do all we can to establish the answers his family deserve."

A car, which officers believe belonged to Mr Torrington, has been recovered from Ellacombe Road for examination.
