Man in life-threatening condition after Bristol hit and run

A pedestrian was hit by a van in Ilminster Avenue

A man in his 70s has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a hit and run involving a van.

The incident happened on Ilminster Avenue in Bristol at around 09:10 GMT. The injured man, from Knowle, was taken to hospital.

The road was closed near Tavistock Road and Connaught Road. It reopened at 13:20.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary have asked witnesses or those with dashcam footage to get in touch.
