Mikey Roynon died from a single stab wound at a party in Bath

A teenager told his friend "I am going to die" after being stabbed in the neck at a house party, a court has heard.

Mikey Roynon, 16, from Kingswood near Bristol, was fatally attacked with a large zombie knife during an argument in Bath on 10 June.

The three boys on trial at Bristol Crown Court, who cannot be named for legal reasons, deny murder.

The court was told there was no evidence the defendants knew who Mikey was before the party.

During the trial all three defendants chose to not give evidence and instead produced written statements.

Judge Mr Justice Saini, who finished summing up the trial, said one witness, who has given evidence in court, saw the knife go into Mikey.

One of Mikey's friends who had travelled with him to the 16th birthday party told the court he saw Mikey after the attack and recalled how he told him "I am going to die".

'Put emotion aside'

The boy, who cannot be named, did not see the attack itself but had been "very tearful" in the witness box, the judge said.

The judge added the witness said about nine or 10 boys had pulled weapons "like swords and zombie knives".

The judge told jurors they needed to "put sympathy and emotion out of their minds", adding Mikey "was a child, the defendants are children".

Boy A, who inflicted the fatal wound, previously told the court he was acting in self-defence.

After initially denying charges, boy A and boy B admitted possessing knives, which boy C denies.

Jurors will be sent out to consider their verdicts on Tuesday.
