Motorists are warned of delays on roads near Huntingdon as 30,000 people attend a festival

Tonnes of extra woodchip and temporary road tracks have been brought in to ensure a Cambridgeshire festival will not be a wash-out.

Up to 30,000 people are expected at the four-day Secret Garden Party at Abbots Ripton, near Huntingdon.

Organiser Fred Fellowes described it as "a bit damp" after weeks of heavy rain. One festival-goer said it was so wet pond algae was growing on a field.

Motorists are warned to expect disruption on roads near the site.

Cambridgeshire Police have also issued a drugs warning to festival-goers after two people died in the county last month after reportedly taking an ecstasy-type pill.

There have been several other deaths across England recently which are thought to have been linked to "pink ecstasy".

A spokesman said the force would take a zero tolerance approach to drugs.

Police and security staff will be carrying out security checks on anyone attending the event.
