A14 in Cambridgeshire closed as lorry fire breaks out

Fire services have been dealing with the fire on the A14 by Alconbury
The westbound section of the A14 in Cambridgeshire has been closed after a lorry carrying hay bales caught fire, causing long queues on the road.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said the road between junction 23 for the Spittals Interchange to Alconbury, at the A14 Spur, could be closed for several hours.
Queues were back to junction 26 at St Ives and congestion remains.
The bales were removed and broken down to stop them burning.

The fire service said farmers had helped move smouldering bales of hay away from the burning lorry. Firefighters were called to the blaze just after 05:30 BST.
A spokesman for the service said there were 36 tonnes of hay on the vehicle.
He said the lorry had finally been removed shortly before 15:00 BST, however, the westbound carriageway remains closed between junction 23 and Alconbury.
