Man saved by toilet trip as car crashes into Cambridge home

The driver was three times over the drink-drive limit, police said
A 75-year-old disabled man was "lucky not to have been killed" when he got up to use the toilet moments before a car crashed into his living room.
Stan Miller had been watching television in his bungalow in Arbury, Cambridge, when the Vauxhall Corsa smashed through the wall.
"If I hadn't got up for the loo I don't know if I'd be here, but I am just glad the driver was not hurt," he said.
Police said the driver was three times over the drink-drive limit.
A 32-year-old man has been charged with causing criminal damage to a property, drink-driving, and driving without a licence and insurance.
The black car crashed off the junction of Campkin Road and Northfield Avenue in north Cambridge at about 21:15 GMT on Monday.

It careered through the wooden fence, across the small drive, smashed through the bungalow's front window and wall and ended up embedded in Mr Miller's living room.
It left a scene of devastation, with bricks, glass and rubble strewn across the floor, however Mr Miller, who has lived there for more than 20 years, refused to leave his home and stayed the night after police and structural experts had checked the property.
"I think someone must have been looking out for me," he said, surveying the damage.

"I'm not leaving my home, but I think that wall's got to come out.
"I think they are going to make me leave today."
Mr Miller's daughter, who lives close by, received a telephone call on Monday telling her what had happened.
"It was the scariest call of my life," she said.
"Dad is very shocked, but he handles things really well, bless his heart."
Builders arrived to check the damage on Tuesday morning

Mr Miller has now been found temporary accommodation while the car is removed and further checks are made on what remains of his home.
