- Published
Police have arrested a man after a health centre was severely damaged in a suspected arson attack.
Firefighters and police were called to Fulbourn Health Centre, near Cambridge, at 00:42 BST to find it alight.
The front reception area was badly damaged and there was extensive smoke damage to the building.
Police said a man, in his 40s, from Fulbourn, was arrested on suspicion of arson, criminal damage and assaulting an officer, who had minor injuries.
No-one was hurt in the fire. Police appealed for witnesses.
In a statement NHS Property Services said it was working with the surgery and the NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to "quickly find alternative accommodation for the practice" and to help minimise disruption to staff and patients.
A spokesperson for the CCG said: "We would like to reassure patients that the practice team are here to help and to continue to seek help and advice when needed.
"Patients should continue to contact the practice as they normally would to access services."
It also said online and telephone appointments would continue as normal and all essential face-to-face appointments will be provided at the nearby Cornford House Surgery, external.
