March public toilets to be demolished to make way for new facilities

Demolition work starts on the toilet block in March

An old public toilet block is being demolished as part of a project to regenerate a Fenland town.

The toilets near the bridge on Broad Street in March, in Cambridgeshire, were closed in December.

Plans for new facilities along the western edge of Grays Lane and the riverbank will go before Fenland District Council planners shortly.

Temporary toilets have been available in March town centre since the existing block closed.

The council said: "The demolition is a key part of the overall town centre regeneration plans as it will allow the riverside to be opened-up and enhanced, complimenting the new Broad Street layout with a new town centre feature for people to enjoy."
