A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision with a lorry near Wyton

A woman in her 60s is "fighting for her life" following a crash.

The cyclist was taken to hospital on Wednesday evening after a collision with a lorry near Wyton.

She had been cycling on the A1123 before she became involved in a collision with a white lorry, near to the Splash Lane junction.

The lorry driver helped police with inquiries and the woman remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed following the incident and ambulance crews were called at around 7pm.

The woman was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and police said the woman was "fighting for her life".

Det Insp Garry Webb said: "We are trying to piece together what happened and would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact us.

"That includes anyone who may have seen the woman on the same road or surrounding roads beforehand."
