Cyclist Michael Gough died in a crash in Huntingdon on Saturday

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a cyclist was killed in a crash.

It happened on George Street, Huntingdon, at about 12:30 GMT on Saturday.

The cyclist, Michael Gough, 65, from Rodney Road in the town, died at the scene, Cambridgeshire Police said.

The driver of a white Ford Transit van, a 73-year-old man from Huntingdon, was arrested and released on police bail until 16 June.

In a tribute released through the force, Mr Gough's family said: "Mike was taken from us doing something he loved and was so passionate about. He will always be remembered.

"We would like to share the importance of wearing a helmet and giving cyclists enough room on the roads."
