Man robs Peterborough Post Office workers at knifepoint twice in one week

Officers have released CCTV of a man they want speak to in connection with the robberies

Police officers have appealed for information after a man robbed a Post Office at knifepoint on two occasions.

Staff at a Post Office on Exeter Road, Peterborough, were threatened by the man on 26 March and again on Saturday.

Both times he wore a face mask and blue latex gloves, and stole a total of £220 along with multiple packs of tobacco.

Police said the experience was "terrifying" for the workers and have released CCTV of the man they want to speak with.

At about 07:15 GMT on 26 March a man threatened staff with a knife and demanded money from the shop's till.

He stole £150 in cash and multiple packs of tobacco before leaving.

On Saturday the same man returned at 08:15 GMT with a knife. He threatened staff and stole £70.

He wore a black puffer jacket, jogging bottoms, a face mask and blue latex gloves.

Police said after both robberies he left the area and ran along Exeter Road towards Vere Road.

During the first incident he was holding a Tesco carrier bag.

PC Megan Simms said: "These were terrifying experiences for the people working in the Post Office and we'd urge anyone with information to contact us."
