Plans for a new hotel in Cornwall will be shown later after a fire destroyed the original.

Flames ripped through the four-storey 120-bed Falmouth Beach Hotel on 30 April. No-one was injured.

The new Western Falmouth Beach Hotel will be built on the site of the old one, opposite Gyllyngvase Beach.

The plans will be displayed at the Green Lawns Hotel. A planning application will be submitted at the end of the month.

No official cause of the fire has yet been revealed, but investigators have said it could have been linked to a tar heater being used to repair a hotel balcony.
