Online access to Cornwall's industrial past

Some of Cornwall's industrial heritage archives are to be put online.
The Trevithick Society has been awarded a grant of £40,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to digitise its archives and put them on the internet.
The society encourages the preservation of mining engine houses and other buildings which formed a significant part of Cornwall's heritage.
It has campaigned to protect the industrial archaeology of Cornwall for about 80 years.
The society holds collections of photographs and documents from Holman Brothers, which made specialised mining equipment.
It also has maps and business records, including some produced by the Cornish inventor and mining engineer Richard Trevithick.
Society chairman Phillip Hosken said "We hope public access will promote interest in the collections and encourage participation in Trevithick Society aims."
