'Searching nooks and crannies'

The search was expanded over the weekend, with rescue teams checking the coast of the island of Bryher on Sunday. Police divers also searched inland waterways.

Sgt Colin Taylor, from Devon and Cornwall Police, said on Facebook, external on Sunday: "People from Scilly and further afield have been very helpful with their encyclopaedic knowledge of the island and its nooks and crannies to help inform the search.

"It really is a marvellous community that has pulled out all the stops for this young man."

Devon and Cornwall Police said the islands' local policing team was returning to St Mary's, where it is based.

Ch Insp Mark Bolt said: "We have done everything possible to locate Josh with the resources available. We are as certain as we can be that he is not in the areas where we have searched.
